Just over a year before the next edition of SICUREZZA, the European leading exhibition for security & fire, the global market is going through a unique phase in which security technologies are increasingly seen as being indispensable for our collective well-being.

The health emergency has highlighted the value of risk perception and prevention and, more than ever before, there is now an opportunity to demonstrate that investment in prevention and protection is important, because risk can result in even higher costs.

The main Italian associations in the sector agree that they have a unique opportunity to share a new “security culture”, also strengthened by a greater acceptance of technologies in daily life. But the solution cannot be to focussed solely on those products and solutions currently in demand, as technological evolution, regulations and costs are changing too quickly. The real added value is professionalism, an indispensable “human factor” with which to optimise resources in order to have efficient systems. The ability to evaluate, summarise, find the balance between risk and investment, and define shared procedures to apply in case of an emergency are all concepts that have become familiar to many in recent months, but these skills have long characterised security professionals who, now more than ever before, are called upon to invest in themselves and make continuous training a distinctive element of their professionalism.
