The 25,569 visitors (+35%) who attended the trade show are testimony to the event’s success, owing to the strength of the sector.
An evolving market with prospects for growth and an exhibition project tailored to the sector. The professionalism and the passion of all involved did the rest.
Since the numbers for SICUREZZA 2017 are not simply statistics, but the result of the hard work of many different individuals.
The introduction of SMART BUILDING EXPO represented an important opportunity to talk about building infrastructure as the basis for the evolution of the ultra-wideband plan and digital services. The event’s offering and training and information sessions were essential for the attending companies, as they revealed new opportunities and rose to the challenge as regards the integration between the security and home automation industries.
Today’s terrorism threat has led to an increased focus on security sector demand, from smart video cameras, biometric access control systems and attack-proof passive defences. However, the sector is experiencing growth driven by a more generalised demand: subsequently, many companies presented contextualised solutions, with smart domestic or authentic ‘safe’ city environments being re-produced for the stands, for technologies that are now inseparable from their application contexts. While cyber security has become an indispensable means to ensure the efficiency of complex systems, drones are being used more and more for all types of monitoring and rescue operations.
Technological systems for security purposes as the focus of the agenda for city administrations and small centres in Lombardy, even if there were many differences owing to the size and characteristics of the various urban centres. A scenario in evolution in Lombardy that has seen those responsible for the Comunes across Italy reflect upon the role of security solutions in monitoring the region and improving the inhabitant’s perception of security.
They represent the human capital of the sector and desire to be both informed and competitive: over 2,000 professionals took part in the 100 training meetings at SICUREZZA 2017, dedicated to today’s most important concerns, from counter-terrorism and the challenges posed by the Smart City to Cyber Security and security technologies for the retail industry, in addition to other specific contexts. The same training was also the focus of several of the meetings dedicated to professional certification, the prospects relating to the new European Regulation on Privacy and the various contexts in which continual development is most requested.
SICUREZZA 2017 and SMART BUILDING EXPO was attended by 25,569 professional visitors in three days: +35% compared to the past edition.
BIM (Building Information Modelling) is not just a tool for building designers, but it’s a true method, a different way to conceive the building. It allows you to understand the yield and performance of a building before its construction and thus to choose the best shape, materials, and technologies. BIM is a platform shared by designers, which allows them to work in parallel and, thereby, in a more organic way.
It’s a true revolution that SICUREZZA is proud to present this year. On this regard, there will be a series of meetings called “The building digital revolution - BIM: Plant design innovation”.
Say domotics read home comfort. But that's not all. Offices, shops, companies, old buildings used as museums, sport centres, and SPAs: domotics is the solution to improve the quality of the work environment, ensure greater safety, and save energy. Kblue has applied its technology to the enhancement and recovery of Italy’s cultural heritage.
Flexibility and versatility are the key words when it comes to security systems. The new products meet the most demanding requirements, from homes to shops, from industrial locations to remote sites that require protection. An example of this is Beyond, the new outdoor sensor, which will be presented at SICUREZZA 2017.
Over 80 brands specialising in connectivity, building automation, smart energy, and Audio Video Control; 50 events including workshops, conferences, and company presentations; a start-up area, which will host newly established companies that create innovation for building automation, and an award to enhance the value of the smart building concept.
Police forces need next generation, versatile, and practical equipment to prevent crime, protect properties, control immigration, and protect people and buildings at risk, so they can adapt to the various situations without slowing down the operations. This year, SICUREZZA 2017 will present Ceia’s latest detectors.
Simultaneously with SICUREZZA 2017, the event will take place from 16 to 17 November. Conferences and workshops will give you the opportunity to learn more about the insurance trends of the moment and of the future, always in synergy with the security industry.
There are many systems that detect and stop fire and SICUREZZA 2017 will showcase them all. The choice depends mostly on the features of the room to protect. Gastec Vesta is a company that boasts a wide range of technological solutions (inert gases, chemical gases, WaterMist, aerosol, etc.), which ensure rapidity and safety for people and the environment.
This year, Material ConneXion Italia has proposed a brand new initiative called “New Materials for a Smart City”. A journey to discover smart materials conceptualised for this way of living the city.
Flexibility, versatility, and easy remote management even from your smartphone are the keywords when it comes to access control. The new solutions must adapt to the various requirements, taking into consideration ever-evolving variables, such as the number of employees, different weekly openings, authorisations, etc. This year, at SICUREZZA 2017, Iseo will present the new functions of the Argo App and V364 system.
SICUREZZA 2017 will be offering a range of technological solutions for security in general that are also highly suitable in the fight against terrorism.
For the third time at SICUREZZA we welcome Ecosystem Village (hall 5), the area dedicated to partners of the Milestone Systems ecosystem.
The demand for security in every situation and every location is becoming increasingly pressing, and products have to evolve rapidly. The most innovative answers to this come through “lateral thinking”...
When people are talking about fire protection equipment, things can get complicated. It is not enough to just choose the most suitable solution for your needs, you have to always keep systems up-to-date with the latest technical regulations and to carry out regular maintenance to ensure correct functioning when needed. This is well-known among companies that manufacture and market these types of systems, such as Mozzanica & Mozzanica, who will be at SICUREZZA 2017 to present the latest innovations in prevention and extinguishing.
The world of security is rapidly evolving: from purely mechanical products, locks are developing into ever-more technologically advanced solutions in integration with other systems.
A demonstration of this at SICUREZZA will be given by CISA, which will present industry professionals with the latest solutions on the market as well as interesting case histories of integration such as the “Smart District” at Cascina Merlata, to the north west of Milan.
Our home should be the place where we feel most secure.
Yet the fear of an intrusion is always there. So what can we do? We have to rely on security professionals who can advise us on modern technologies to protect the home. SICUREZZA 2017 will be presenting a complete overview of the most innovative products on the market. Of the many on view is Tecnoalarm, which this year is celebrating its fortieth year.
SICUREZZA 2017 will feature a focus on fire prevention solutions and products: from gas, water and foam suppression systems and the latest-generation water extinguishers, to electronic detection and flame and smoke signalling systems and air opacity analysers, alongside fire-fighting materials and equipment and video surveillance systems installed to prevent criminal acts.
For once, a video surveillance system has not been installed solely to prevent malicious and criminal acts, but to safeguard our natural heritage. This has been the case for the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, which for some time now has been implementing a progressive plan to monitor and protect its seas and territories. The project was implemented thanks to the technologies supplied by an all-Italian company that will be taking part at SICUREZZA 2017: Saronno-based Bettini, the company in question, will be attending the trade show with their most innovative offerings for the video surveillance sector.
Today, it is no longer possible to talk about the advanced security of buildings without thinking of security as part of an integrated building automation system. Complex and highly technological systems, capable of managing extremely articulated apparatus, require equally as advanced, reliable and versatile components to enable them to respond to each and every installation requirement. German company Link has come up with a solution and will be attending SICUREZZA 2017 with the latest door and window detectors, combining flexibility, efficiency and tamper-proof resistance.
The door to our home represents the boundary between our domestic lives and the lives that we lead outside; it is a means to protect those that we hold dear and the objects that mean the most to us. Subsequently, fitting an effective and secure lock is essential. If it also happens to be comfortable and practical, then better still! SICUREZZA 2017 will provide the possibility, amongst other things, to discover the features of the Mottura XTechnology range of electronic locks, combining innovation and reliability in the one product.
We are increasingly hearing a buzz above our heads that cannot be attributed to giant flies, but to unmanned aerial vehicles or drones that are proving useful in many different contexts. SICUREZZA 2017 will see the return of the dedicated Drone Expo area, where it will be possible to see the most technological models at work.
Security in the retail industry, whether it be for large shopping centres or small stores, has been gaining more and more attention in recent years. Even if the use of electronic appliances for processing payments is increasing, the problem posed by cash remains, especially for the ever growing number of stores that stay open into the night. Gunnebo proposes solutions at SICUREZZA 2017 for the depositing of cash and valuable objects.

On 16 November SICUREZZA 2017 will propose a number of initiatives dedicated to the needs of public administrators and of the new Smart Cities, which are becoming more and more common all over Italy and require new security strategies.
When talking about Industry 4.0 it is impossible not to think of all the consequences this new work approach brings in terms of security. So this is how we start talking about Security 4.0 and companies start moving in this direction.
Recent and sadly frequent events have led town councils to deal with the increasingly pressing issue of the safety of people and of buildings as well.
When it comes to ensuring safety, especially in very large venues, much is demanded from video cameras - they must supply a general view of the settings but, when required, they must also be able to focus on individual details. An example is the PanoVu camera that Hikvision is presenting at SICUREZZA 2017.
Without doubt some of this edition’s novelty lies in the fact it is being held at the same time as Smart Building Expo, the event dedicated to smart buildings, which integrates and increases the offer of SICUREZZA, developing interesting synergies.
Unfortunately, natural catastrophes such earthquakes and hurricanes that leave people and rescuers without electricity are the order of the day. Yet even without reaching such extreme situations, there are many cases in which it can be useful to install an electric device that allows to supply energy in an emergency situation to devices that are normally used for security. The Treviso-based company KERT will present its Central Power Supply Systems at SICUREZZA 2017.
Managing your home automation with an app has become increasingly common and the applications have become more captivating and user-friendly. This is the case of MyNice World, the application created by Nice that will be showcased at SICUREZZA 2017.
A fire-fighting system must be, first of all, reliable. Moreover, a fast network, detection, signalling and evacuation technologies, and a user-friendly interface are significant added values.
What is safer than the Criminal Police Central Directorate in Italy’s common imaginary? The access to this facility is managed via fingerprint recognition software, which Ekey Biometric Systems will present at SICUREZZA 2017.
The Village event, organised by Digitalic (Hall 5, stand V28-Z21), will showcase many innovative cyber security, video surveillance, IoT, storage, and connectivity solutions, and will be the perfect setting to talk about Artificial Intelligence. Will artificial intelligence be the future for the security of things and people?
Ensuring cyber security and avoiding external attacks or undesirable hacking is becoming more and more of a challenge. But what if there was a cyber security feature capable of physically disconnecting a port in the event of an unauthorised access? ComNet has risen to the challenge and will be presenting Port Guardian, the US-based company’s latest invention at SICUREZZA 2017.
From anti-intrusion to fire-prevention systems. Can the same technological model be applied to both fields? Tecnoalarm certainly thinks so. In 2014, the company began using RSC® technology for fire-detection purposes. At SICUREZZA 2017, it will be possible to discover all the features of the range alongside Tecnofire technical-sales representatives.
The SICUREZZA training programme is the jewel in the crown of the Milan-based event. We firmly believe that non-stop personal development is one of the fundamental stimuli for the development of a fast-evolving sector. The ANIE initiative targeting Fire-EVAC maintenance technicians is also heading in this direction. It will take place from the 2 to 5 October in Milan and envisages a theme that will be the focus of the training activities offered by the association at the event.
Smart Building Expo, in collaboration with magazine The Next Building, promotes the 2017 Smart Building Award to give prominence and visibility to the smart building concept. The Award is intended for the customers, designers and manufacturers who make the development of intelligence in terms of connectivity, efficiency, services and performance possible, thus promoting innovation as regards building use based on the digital revolution. A special award is also reserved for the Smart Building Expo exhibitors.
Simultaneously alongside SICUREZZA 2017, there will also be a two-day event dedicated to the insurance industry. Conventions, workshops and meetings to discuss the evolution of a sector that is becoming increasingly synergistic with the security segment, which is currently experiencing a period of great transformation with implications for the industry as a whole.
